Get ready for the Yoga Boot Camp and DETOX Boot Camp!
This week will give you the experience of a lifetime, offering both yoga classes and hot yoga twice a day. There will be a variety of yoga techniques during the week, with a variety of skilled yoga instructors.
Hot Yoga became popular some years ago and Scandinavian Boot Camp has naturally picked up on the trend. The Hot Yoga classes will be held in smaller groups in a studio. The yoga is performed under hot and humid conditions of 40.6° Celsius with a humidity of 40%. This is often associated with the style devised by the creators of Bikram Yoga.
The classes run for 90 minutes and use heat to increase the flexibility in each of the 26 poses performed, together with two different breathing exercises. When practising Hot Yoga the focus is not to heat up the body more than 42°C. This allows the body to start a detox process, which is great for both body and mind.
While enjoying the Hot Yoga classes, you will also be able to experience Yin Yoga, which has the same goals as any other school of yoga, however it targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in other types of yoga. Yin Yoga is suitable for all levels and a great complement to other more dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga practised at the camp.
As a happy camper, you will also get the unique experience of how it is to yoga outside, benefiting from the fresh Swedish Lapland air and the views of untouched green nature.
During this week at the Boot Camp, the menu in the restaurant will consist of mainly vegetarian food, at times complemented with fish or chicken.
Some meals will also be “raw” food, a fairly new style of cooking. The food prepared cannot be heated above 42°C, which means that it is still “alive”.
Much of what we eat today is no longer “real” food. The “raw” food philosophy is one that we should not heat up the food above 42°C. Raw food provides you with both nutrients and energy. The mind and body then gets what it needs.
Within the week there will be a day allocated for lectures and talk about the Yoga Anatomy, and about the specific world of yoga.
You will be sent a pre-Boot Camp information pack for a week’s detox preparation. It is very important to help your body adjust prior to getting to the camp. Included in the pack will be recipes and tips on how to get your body ready.
